Plant Management Software for Civil Engineering Contractors
Civil engineering contractors use Equipbase to manage plant across long-running contracts, track movements and servicing, and recharge plant to clients with records behind every line.
Long contracts make plant costs harder to see
On a long-running scheme, plant can fade into the background. Machines may remain beyond their original phase, hires can roll on without regular review, and owned-plant servicing may be tracked across separate records. The commercial impact may only become clear when the contract is reconciled.
On measured-term and cost-reimbursable work, incomplete plant records can also make eligible client charges harder to support.
Plant control for long-running contracts
Equipbase provides a current operational record as teams update it: each hire has a status and recorded dates, each owned asset has a recorded location, service schedule and movement history, and plant costs can be reviewed by contract while the work is live.
Where plant is chargeable to the client, client recharge invoices can be built from the underlying records with periods, rates and line-level traceability.

Frequently asked questions
Can one scheme be split into sections or phases?
Plant is managed against each contract. If you model sections as separate contracts, they remain separate records; company users with appropriate access can report across those contracts.
Does it support cost-reimbursable and measured-term evidence?
Hire periods, owned-plant allocations, rates and attached documents can support your commercial records. Client invoices can be built from eligible plant records and are snapshotted when issued.
We run JVs. Can access be controlled tightly?
Equipbase does not provide a shared cross-company JV workspace. Within one company account, access is controlled by role. Ask us to demonstrate the current access model for your intended users, and see the security page.
How does it cope with plant idle over winter shutdowns?
After a return is completed, owned plant at the depot can show as available or in maintenance rather than allocated to a contract. Hired plant can be off-hired and ordered again around a shutdown, with the dates retained in the records.
