Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 27-07-2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Equipbase uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It forms part of our Privacy Policy and complies with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit the Equipbase website. They can be used to provide essential site functionality, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use a site.
Cookies Used by This Website
This website uses strictly necessary cookies, and — only if you choose to accept them — optional analytics cookies:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for the website to work, such as the security token that protects our demo and contact forms from forged submissions. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics Cookies (optional): Set by Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, and used only to measure how visitors find and use this website (for example which pages are viewed and which pages people arrive on). They are not set unless you accept them.
We do not use advertising, remarketing or personalisation cookies on this website, and no advertising tags are loaded.
Analytics cookies in detail
These are only set after you select “Accept analytics”:
- _ga — set by Google Analytics to distinguish one visitor's browser from another. Retained for up to 2 years.
- _ga_39N12QFC45 — set by Google Analytics to keep track of the current visit to this website. Retained for up to 2 years.
These are first-party cookies, set on this domain. Google processes the resulting information as our analytics provider. You can read Google's Privacy Policy for details of how Google handles it.
Your Choice and How Consent Is Stored
The first time you visit, a cookie banner asks whether you want optional analytics. Both options are offered equally and no analytics is loaded until you choose:
- Accept analytics: the Google Analytics script is loaded and the analytics cookies above are set.
- Reject analytics: no Google Analytics tracking takes place. The Google Analytics script is never loaded, no request is made to Google Analytics, no analytics cookies are set and no page views are recorded. The rest of the website works exactly as normal.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under eb-consent-v1 — not a cookie, and never sent to us or to Google. It records only the choice itself and the date it was made, and it is treated as expired after 12 months, after which the banner asks again.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics is switched off immediately, no further data is sent, and the analytics cookies listed above are removed from your browser.
Google Consent Mode v2
This website uses Google Consent Mode v2 in its basic form. Analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are all set to denied by default. Accepting grants analytics storage only; the advertising-related permissions remain denied at all times. Because we use the basic implementation, rejecting means the Google Analytics tag is not loaded at all — no analytics data, anonymous or otherwise, is sent to Google Analytics.
Google Fonts (Not Cookies, but Worth Knowing)
This website loads its typeface (Inter) from Google Fonts on every page. This is part of how the site is displayed, so it happens whatever you choose in the cookie banner. It is separate from analytics and works differently:
- Google Fonts does not set any cookies on this website.
- Because your browser fetches the font files from Google's servers, Google receives your IP address and standard request information (such as your browser and operating system). Google states that this information is used to serve the fonts and is not used to build an advertising profile — see Google's Fonts privacy FAQ.
- Nothing about how you use this website — the pages you view, how long you stay — is sent to Google Fonts.
Rejecting analytics stops Google Analytics entirely, but it does not stop the font request, because the site could not be displayed as intended without it.
The Equipbase Application
This policy primarily covers the Equipbase marketing website. The signed-in Equipbase application, hosted at a separate address, uses browser storage for:
- Authentication and security: a session token keeps you signed in. If you choose Trust this device for 8 hours during two-factor authentication, the application sets a secure, HttpOnly cookie for up to eight hours.
- Interface preferences: your light or dark theme and dashboard display choices.
- Unfinished work: draft plant orders and requests, so they can be restored until submitted, discarded or cleared from the browser.
The signed-in application does not use Google Analytics, advertising or remarketing cookies. For information about how we handle personal data inside the application, see our Privacy Policy.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers let you control cookies through settings. You can block, delete, or restrict cookies at any time. The links below provide guidance:
