Why Equipbase exists
Construction runs on plant: hired in from suppliers, owned and moved between contracts, serviced, damaged, off-hired and recharged. But the tools many companies use to manage it are a spreadsheet, an inbox and a phone. Equipbase was built to replace that patchwork with one system that plant departments, site teams and finance teams can use.
We're deliberately focused: Equipbase is for construction companies that hire plant in and manage their own fleet: groundworks and civil engineering contractors, main contractors and plant departments. It is not a system for hire companies renting fleets to customers, and it doesn't try to be an accounting package. It handles the plant-management workflows construction teams need.
How we work
Equipbase is developed in the UK and shaped directly by the plant managers and site teams who use it. Features like partial off-hires, backdated transfers, theft recovery and client recharging exist because real customers needed them on real contracts. Pricing is tailored to each company rather than forced into tiers, because no two plant operations are shaped the same.
